Robert James Smith is an English musician who was born on April 21, 1959. He is the sole surviving member of the rock group the Cure, which he co-founded in 1978.
He also serves as the band’s main singer, guitarist, and principal composer. In addition, he played lead guitar for Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1982 to 1984 and was a member of the Glove in 1983, a short-lived band.
